The schwinger model and its axial anomaly
WebbIn Section 2, we study the charge-q 𝑞 q italic_q Schwinger model, its discrete symmetries, its ’t Hooft anomalies, and the anomaly saturation. In Section 3 , we review the DW solution in the high temperature S U ( 2 ) 𝑆 𝑈 2 SU(2) italic_S italic_U ( 2 ) SYM theory and show that the worldvolume of the DW is a charge- 2 2 2 2 axial Schwinger model. Webbthe axial anomaly, we have considered the two-dimensional massless Schwinger model for an arbitrary interpolating angle of the quantization surface. By examining spectral deformation of the Dirac sea under an external electric field semiclassically, we have found that the axial anomaly is quantization angle independent.

Working in the {ital A} {sub 0}=0 gauge, we explicitly construct the exact, physical states of the theory in the fermionic Fock space using the Schroedinger-picture representation for the gauge field degrees of freedom.
Webbanomaly appears on the DW worldvolume as a mixed Zd˜ 4-Z C 2 anomaly [4,5,13]. Owing to the 2d nature of Schwinger model, its axial version can be mapped to the charge-2 vector model studied in the rst part of the paper. The results there show that the DW inherits the bulk anomaly, which is saturated by the presence of two degenerate vacua ... The anomaly pole implies the existence of a gapless Chiral Density Wave (CDW), i.e. an axion-like acoustic mode of an irrotational and dissipationless Hamiltonian perfect fluid, that is …
