Webb23 nov. 2024 · We can increase the list items limit from 5000 to 50000 (fifty thousand) in SharePoint on-premise, in fact, we can disable the list view threshold limit which is not all recommended but in SharePoint online we don’t have control over it, so we need to move on with the whatever limitation is set i.e. 5000. Exception calling "ExecuteQuery" with "0" argument (s): "The attempted operation is prohibited because it exceeds the list view threshold enforced by the administrator."

Any attempt to perform bulk operations such as read/write more than 5000 items in SharePoint Online invokes this issue. Unlike SharePoint on-premises, this threshold limit can’t be increased, unfortunately!
